you are warmly invited to the screening of the movie *Metropolis*
(directed by Fritz Lang in 1927) on Wednesday, the 28. March, at 20.00
o'clock in the Social Center Tovarna Rog.
The central theme of the movie is the dualism between the capitalistic
bourgeosie and the working class, which is overall described by the
different living conditions: the rich people residing high above in a
shining city while the working class lives in the misery underground of
the futuristic town Metropolis. In the end the antagonism results in the
formation of a collective identity subjective will and thus a revolution
of the working class.
This polical plot, which deals with both fascism and capitalism, ideas
of revolution of the working class, the role of parties or of the
church, is shown within a futuristic scenery, avant-gardistic effects
and ideas surroundings. The architectonial visualizations still set
design standards that impress modern audiences with their visual impact.
