If you'll close Ultima, you'll close Rog! And then you can have the whole place to yourself, you lazy asses. Ultima is the only place in Rog that's open every week. You should take them as inspiration and try to attract more people to your places. People will start talking and Tovarna Rog will get a bad reputation, believe me Ultima has fans all over the world. Yup world, not Slovenia. All the accusations about it's shape are hard to believe, it looks like you made them up in a week. All of a sudden the place is too dangerous to be open just for a few months more. Don't be so jealous folks.

PURA VIDA ULTIMA!

Ultima is the only place that really keeps Rog alive. They are true artists that care about people, not their ego. Don't try to take our good times from us, just cause you're jealous about Ultima's success. Better come join the party, and your anger will go away. There is no happier place than Ultima in Ljubljana, that's why so many people go there. And it's good for Ljubljana that lots of foreign students like it,too.

Koncertna Dvorana's owners always talks bad things about Ultima,too, cause they're jealous and want Ultima closed.
And safety and sanitation is the same everywhere in Rog. Do you want to close whole Rog down, too? Or maybe only keep your place? Are you now going to have inspection of all places? Or just picked on Ultima?

Or maybe you do not care about what people think? Maybe someone will want to inspect you,too?

I personally have a really hard time believing all the accusations made by some of Rog's temporary users. The atmosphere in Ultima is far from bad, people are friendly and nonviolent and I have never witnessed the "bad foreign crowd" causing any problems. We like Ultima. The music's great and the vibe is beyond awesome. Ultima is the only alternative culture "club" (it is quite difficult to label Ultima as a club, because it is just so much more than a place to go dancing or drinking) in Ljubljana that offers a sort of a warm shelter during the winter months or if the nights are cool. You can't get that anywhere else, because not a lot of clubs or bars are open late at night during the week and if they are, the music or the crowd usually doesn't really suit the average Ultima visitor. Oh, and regarding the safety measures: the ventilation in Ultima is much much better than at, say, Metelkova. And if everything is in such a bad condition, how come people feel so good in Ultima? Just my opinion, but if Ultima closes, the Rog complex as we all know and love will be torn down or severely changed. And that sucks for everyone.

rog vs ultima

Wow! Trying to close Ultima and all the accusations I have been hearing about lately really shock me because this goes against everything "alternative culture" center is suppose to represent. Instead of stepping together and trying to prove to MOL that Rog is worth keeping, you guys are fighting each other (how are going to fight others?).. Besides, it's all a bit funny because Ultima is within the framework of Rog AND it's the only active thing there and consequently, the only thing having guests. So I sense jealousy, which is probably the real reason behind all the accusations. The Rog concert hall is rarely open and it's too passive, which is a shame. Personally, I'd love to see more concerts at Rog (hinthint), but since the whole complex seems abandoned, it's like saying to MOL "sure, tear it down, nobody's here anyway"... I mean, it's great for you squatters to have a place to be, but there's nothing left for us that don't live there. Haha, I just imagined you guys as a bunch of hillbillies yelling "Get outta our property!"..sorry, just kidding :)
Anyway people, don't fight, unite and think of the bigger picture!

Well i've been a regular

Well i've been a regular visitor in Ultima for quite some time now, it is a great place to hang out, great events and always crowded with many people who want to party. In winter it is our winter quarters and in summer is a perfect place to go when you want more action. Alot of foreign people come and visit it, everyone you know you take them to Ultima because you know they will like it and remeber Ljubljana after a cool party place. The owner is always kind to his visitors and he never lets the crowd down.
From what i see, there is no real reason for closing it, unless the purpose of all this is to shut down one of the best places to hang out. But it still makes no sense. Where else could the partying be if not in Ultima? So if this wants to make sense i say close the topic, stop this nonsense and keep the party going! ;)

Please don't close Ultima, It's probably one of the best clubs
in Ljubljana as it always had a great party and was the most
multicultural club in any squat in Slovenia, if you close it
down, Ljubljana will lose one of it's most prized possesions...

only you forgot to mention the multiple personal threats, cursing and attempts of physical violence against Dimon ,from some squatters, that took place at this 09.05.2011 meeting, which was witnessed by about 20 people and even videotaped on mobile phone.
if any physical aggression/injuries/acts of violence/life threats will happen to Dimon in near future, whoever keeps the tapes is instructed to send copies of those videos straight to American Embassy and the police.
we're peaceful artists but we know how to protect our personal safety in intelligent ways.

as for your sudden 'safety concerns', let me ask you: WEREN'T YOU AROUND ROG FOR 3 YEARS OF ULTIMA? YOU WERE. DID YOU JUST NOT CARE ABOUT SAFETY OF PEOPLE IN ULTIMA BEFORE? AND NOW ALL OF THE SUDDEN YOU DO? WHY DIDN'T YOU TRY TO NAIL "ULTiMA" CLOSED BEFORE? ULTIMA ALWAYS HAD INTENSE HAPPY EVENTS WITH A LOT OF GUESTS. AND NOW, IN MAY 2011, YOUR HEART JUST SUDDENLY WOKE UP EXPLODING OUT OF PITY 'POOR PEOPLE IN SUCH DANGEROUS PLACE"? Or maybe it's not THAT dangerous, AFTER ALL, and you a bit exaggerating? Perhaps some small fixes will do, not the global 2-year-long building super-reconstruction you trying to suggest us performing on it, keeping the place closed?

V ponedeljek, 9. maja, ob 13h, je bil sklican sestanek - skupščina Roga – na dvorišču pred Ultimo zaradi sanitarnih in varnostnih pogojev v zgradbi, kjer ta deluje. Razpravi je sledil ogled spornih prostorov in fotografiranje ter nadaljnja razprava.

Uporabniki in uporabnice tovarne Rog so ugotovili, da obstaja v prostorih, kjer deluje Ultima, nadpovprečno varnostno tveganje. Zato so sklenili, da je treba v zgradbi, kjer ta deluje:
- montirati zadostno število podpornih stebrov, da bo v prostoru varno organizirati dogodke, kakršne redno organizira Ultima;
- odpraviti tveganje, ki izhaja iz zunanjih zidov in se nanaša na odprtine v nosilnih stebrih stavbe;
- poskrbeti za varnostni izhod v primeru požara;
- odpraviti težave s kanalizacijo, ki se nanašajo na luknjo v stropu, s katere zamaka v pritlične prostore zgradbe.

Preveriti je treba, kako na varnost zgradbe, v kateri deluje Ultima, vpliva sosednja zgradba, s katero si delita steno in je v še slabšem stanju kot zgradba, v kateri je Ultima.

Dokler ne bo doseženo soglasje, da je zgradba, kjer trenutno deluje Ultima, varna za organizacijo njenih dogodkov, je prostor zaprt. Prostor se odpre na pobudo ekipe Ultime, ko bo ta odpravila vzroke nevarnosti. Pred morebitnim ponovnim odprtjem Ultime morajo uporabniki in uporabnice tovarne Rog skupaj pregledati prostor in odobriti njegovo uporabo. Ekipa Ultime bo priskrbela mnenje enega strokovnjaka za statiko oz. gradbeništvo. Drugega strokovnjaka za statiko oz. gradbeništvo bodo priskrbeli zaskrbljeni uporabniki in uporabnice tovarne Rog. Oba strokovnjaka morata potrditi, da je varnostno tveganje odpravljeno, preden se Ultima spet odpre.

Ekipa Ultime se za organizacijo prihodnjih dogodkov dogovarja z drugimi prostori (Modri kotiček, Koncertna dvorana, SC Rog). Ob organizaciji dogodkov pa poskrbi za nadzor nad dogajanjem.

Kolikor kdo meni, da je treba nadaljevati razpravo o Ultimi, naj skliče sestanek na tovarna.org.

For Victory Day Of Russia

Zelo pomankljiv zapisnik ste objavl morm rečt. Ne vemo niti kdo je bil povabljen, niti kdo se je udeležil ''sestanka''. Kar se pa tiče problemov, ki naj bi obstajali v Ultimi se mi zdijo daleč od tega tako problematični, da bi se morala Ultima zapret. Ja res je, s kanalizacijo je problem, ampak ne samo od Ultime temveč od celotnega Roga. Ne poznam nikogar, ki bi se v Ultimi počutil ogroženega. Se mi pa zdi, da če bi ljudje bili dejansko v strahu ne bi Ultima doživljala tako množičnega obiska. Samo ugibam, mislim, da vas ravno to moti. In kar se tiče obtožb, da so obiskovalci agresivni in nevarni in da Ultima oddaja slabo energijio je samo dokaz, da vas moti uspešnost Ultime, ker je to enostavno ena velika laž. Ultima prejema same pohvale, od tujcev kot domačinov.

Dear Rog community,

I’m an artist and academician from Turkey. I teach fashion sociology, art theory and make presentations about LGBTT/Queer Art around the world. I am here for a few months and I discovered Ultima almost 2 months ago by chance. Now I am working on an international art project for this place. I would like to inform you about this international project and call your attention to your decision of ‘closing Ultima for public events’.

(As an individual opinion: I have been at this Ultima parties for 2 months and I have never seen any violence, fight or hard discussion between people in this place. Erasmus people like this place as their second home.)

Ultima Mail Art Project
It is an international mail art project which is organized by me. (Further information about mail art, please check this Wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mail_art). I started the project beginning of the April and I sent call text to all mail art groups and squat’s mail groups all around the world. For now, we have more than 40 mails and almost 60 artworks which will be exhibited at Ultima in June. The main idea of project is gathering people all around the world at a free, open-mined place by an open, non-commercialized project. (It is very close to Ultima opinion!). Also we have artworks of well-known artists around the world. My modest request is that please rethink to close this gathering place before acting so fast. We are organizing a mail-art project in a squatted crazy place, Ultima, in the middle of Ljubljana, Slovenia. It would a pleasure for us to see your works on these crazy place’s walls. We have no theme, no constraints on techniques or non-techniques. It will be an open, free and non-commercialized exhibition. Our aim is to meet on a blank wall with our ideas and feelings. Topic is ‘Mail-art for Autonomy’, but you can choose your own topic whatever you want.

The works will be exhibited in Ultima which is a squatted, surrealistic place in the middle of Ljubljana, Slovenia. This exhibition will be permanent and if you have a chance to come and see you work, we offer you a beer (nice price).

Today on a blank wall, tomorrow in the same city, next day on the same table…

Terms:

All techniques are allowed.

All sizes are allowed. (The main problem is putting it into an envelope.)

No jury, no selection, no prizes, no returns.

All works will be exhibited. (Except discriminatory, racist and insulting ones.)

All participants must agree to the reproduction of his/her work in brochures.

Each artist can participate with a one or more works.

Participant should write their names and countries on envelops or artworks. (They will be used as tags.)

All art works will be published on the blog. (Also all works can be uploaded on facebook group by artists.)

Our deadline is 10th of May (2011) but please send your works as soon as possible.

with all respect to newly born ROG's 'mini-government', you forgot, of course, to ask OTHER Rog's temporary users opinion (Blue Corner, Jazz club, etc) and of course forgot to ask PEOPLE WHAT THEY THINK ABOUT IT.

And you didn't even bother to invite ULTIMA crew to such unexpected meeting, and instead nailed Ultima's door 1 hour before our scheduled event??
to avoid your efforts looking like plain sabotage, let's have that meeting we talked about this Monday, and INVITE ALL ROG'S TEMPORARY USERS and ANYONE AT ALL WHO WANTS TO PUT A WORD IN FOR ULTIMA.
